Our history

In 1985 Eva Wincent started a small yarn shop in Handen outside Stockholm. In 1990, she moved the business to the inner city of Stockholm. The shop was first at Luntmakargatan and then Sveavägen. The shop sold yarns from Rowan, which were as popular back then as they are today. Intarsia knitting was the hot topic and Rowan's yarns were sold in kits to match the descriptions. You could buy 25 gram skeins in all sorts of colors. Kaffe Fassett was a leading designer, both in Rowan's knitting patterns and also in embroidery from Ehrman.

Eva also sold Kaffe Fassett's colorful textiles and did several collaborations with him. They held exhibitions at the Nordic Museum in 1990 and Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde in 2006 where Wincent Garner had her own pop-up shop with Kaffe's embroidery kits and fabrics. The last exhibition was in 2023-2024 at Millesgården.

In 1997, the store moved to Norrtullsgatan 65, and a few years later to its current address, Norrtullsgatan 27. The store became Rowan's flagship store in Stockholm and is still the only store in Stockholm that sells Rowan.

Around 2010, Eva added Gepard as a supplier. Shortly after the store became the first Isager retailer in Stockholm and Eva translated Isager's patterns into Swedish for many years to come.

Today, Karolina runs the store and its e-commerce, who long had wishful thinking about having her own store. As her passion for knitting was growing, a yarn store became the obvious choice. After working administratively for an IT-company for 15 years, she didn't hesitate when the opportunity arose to acquire Eva's beautiful store with its premium brand and heritage. In the fall of 2025 her dream became reality and she enjoys working with what she's passionate about – every day!
